Ross has good ears. Anyone who has been out West and has gazed across the seemingly endless open spaces there has seen these long slopes that lie at the foot of mesas and mountains. They are striking in their massive scale and simple beauty, a symbol of the limitless potential that exists everywhere, even in the desert. We chose the name Talus as an echo of a line in the title track of Mike Collin's Desert Anthem album:

"The desert before you, the angular plain . . ."

We hope our productions will have an impact on you that is as great as the one created by the angular plain, or talus, seen from Gates Pass just West of Tucson. Enjoy!

Talus Music is a recording studio in Apex, North Carolina. Apex is just south of Raleigh, the capital city. All music from our recording studio we record digitally, mix digitally, and master digitally. At the heart of the system is a combination of computer hardware using PreSonus products and Nuendo and Wavelab software from Steinberg. The computers are custom-built PCs.

When time avails, we also offer these Services. Services is an Adobe Acrobat PDF file. By reading this document, you will get a good idea of what is involved in the recording, manufacturing and publishing process. If you are a glutton for punishment, you may wish to learn the whole process and do it yourself! We'll help you with that too! The technology is available and affordable these days.
